THE NEW NORMALITY IN TRAVEL

Spread the love

I have been longing for posting this all. It’s always exciting yet motivating to continue my purpose with everyone. Today, I have teamed up with inspiring bloggers or digital content creators to give light yet honest answers that can share with aspiring female travelers. I’m sure everyone will love this collaboration. Let us share the good points they have for The New Normality in Travel.

Let’s get started!

  1. What made you interested in travel in general?

When I was younger my family and I would travel a lot for my father’s job and I think it stuck with me. I love discovering new places, meeting new people, being immersed in other cultures even if it’s just for a little while. I really enjoy sharing my travelling experiences, I think more people would travel if they knew how attainable it is. You don’t always need a big budget to go somewhere.

  1. Do you think sustainable lifestyle (such as using bamboo utensils, eco bag, DIY stuff) will still continue after the pandemic? Share your recent hobbies.

I don’t see why they wouldn’t, even though a lot of things will change after Covid, I think people still have their habits that would probably stay the same. My hobby is mainly photography and I’m trying to pick up reading again.

  2. In your opinion, what will be the new normal for traveling? And Why?

Travelling post pandemic is going to take a while before it becomes normal again. I think COVID opens our eyes on how as an individual you need to protect yourself more and not just assume others are being clean or cleaning things that you will use properly. Overall travelling will depend on what type of person you are, if you are a big germaphobe you will probably be basking in a lot of paranoia at each step of your trip. I personally will set in place some new measures that I wasn’t doing before for instance deep clean of my airplane seat area, or hotel room, etc.

    5. What things or activities you are looking forward to after this pandemic?

Travelling is at the top of my list, I had to cancel a couple of trips this year and I’m itching to be back on an adventure. Other than that I miss concerts and big gatherings but for those I’m not sure when we will be able to really enjoy them without being uncomfortable.

    6.

What is your new goal for travel? How will it affect your lifestyle?

For me this year is a right off, I’ll have to see about next year. I think my new goal is to be able to even go to one place next year, and come back with no issues haha which is the bare minimum. I’m used to travelling a lot and I am not always home so now my lifestyle has changed completely hahah I am always home! I am taking advantage of this by resting a lot, spending time with my family and working on some projects I put off. I think I will also travel more locally and discover different cities in Canada.

  1. What made you interested in travel in general?

As a child, my mom would tag me along to anywhere she would go. She would bring me anywhere she would go. I would always remember those vague memories of traveling to Baguio, to Japan, to US as a little girl. It kind of stopped as years went by. It wasn’t a priority anymore. But what ignited my love to travel was when I was already in college. I was part of an international organization and we travel to different provinces for conferences and projects plus we meet people from difference nationalities, so we are kind of immersed with different cultures. You can also add that my friends love to travel as well.

  1. Why did you choose that as your niche in blogging?

It wasn’t the case at first. I started blogging after I graduated high school and most of my blogs then were more on storytelling of whatever happen to me on a daily basis. Until I started to do picture blogs when I started to experience to travel again. Why I did that? It’s because I only have vague memories of my travels in the past especially when I was younger. I wanted to remember bits and pieces of it that I can look back as years would pass by. But when I had my child, I shifted from travel to motherhood and travel, and more on sharing travel tips and places to go to that are kid friendly.

  1. Do you think sustainable lifestyle (such as using bamboo utensils, eco bag, DIY stuff) will still continue after the pandemic? Share your recent hobbies.

A number of friends I know has started to practice a sustainable lifestyle even before the pandemic begun. Right now, though we rarely go out, I now bring my own cup for when I go to the coffeeshop, or have my own straw, eco bags are a must haves. I never go out without it. They are some ways that we can lessen contact with other people, so that we wouldn’t risk ourselves on the possibility of having to contact with someone with the virus. I think it may still continue after, still not a lot will get this, especially that it is also really hard to sustain.

I don’t think I have new hobbies nowadays. I just work, take care of my son and our home. On my me time, I just relax, watch Netflix or chat with friends.

  1. In your opinion, what will be the new normal for traveling? And Why?

I think seat sales won’t be available for a mean time. if there is, not too cheap unlike before. I think they won’t fill up buses, planes and vans – be it local or international. There won’t be travel tour groups. Travel will become expensive. Most of the time we get to have cheaper travels when we join tour groups or here in the local travel industry, we call it “joiners”.

So, since we are not allowed to go in big groups as well as be with people who does not come in the same household, it is not possible to have a cheaper expenses. Another thing is since we are still not safe, kids can’t go out, therefore a lot of travels will be on halt, especially for me, my son is always with me. In fact, we had a supposed international travel, but the lockdown happened 2 weeks before our flight. Until now we haven’t had the chance to refund our flights.

  1. What things or activities you are looking forward to after this pandemic?

I just wish that things can be normal again. Like we can bring our children everywhere and anywhere without worrying of getting the virus. A lot of a child’s life has been greatly affected during this pandemic that even happened during the height of summer vacation. Instead of the child being able to go to the beach, visiting a lot of landmarks and theme parks, doing summer workshops or playing with their friends.

None of these happened and not only memories were stolen for them, what was gone was the opportunity to grow and learn from their every day life outside. Not that they didn’t have a chance at home, I was able to enlist him on learning sessions and workshops.

He did a lot of playing and we did a lot of arts and crafts. But I think my son missed a lot of “life” during this pandemic. I hope we get to do this again soon and I hope we will be able to fly to our supposed destination.

  1. What is your new goal for travel? How will it affect your lifestyle?

I don’t really have a goal now. I don’t have a choice, my son is always with me. If there isn’t a cure or a vaccine yet, then none. I can’t have goals. That is the main effect on my lifestyle.

  1. What made you interested in travel?
I kind of always have been into traveling. Although I don’t think I have traveled as much as I would like, it’s one of the things that I actually love. I am in love and so interested in different cultures, lifestyles and even learning languages through travel. Who wouldn’t love it! I wanted people to experience that with me and it has been interesting to see and hear what people say.
  2. Do you think sustainable lifestyle (such as using bamboo utensils, eco bag, DIY stuff) will still continue after the pandemic? Share your recent hobbies.
Definitely! We all love DIY stuff. I have personally been loving and utilizing Eco Bags and Tote Bags. To help reduce my use of plastics. That’s all I find myself searching more on Pinterest!
  1. What things or activities you are looking forward to after this pandemic?
You know what. This pandemic has made a total change to our lives. And with it accompanying the bad. I would like to believe it also came with the good. One of them is spending time with family.
But as to travel, especially with my experience traveling during the pandemic I think a lot will improve. I feel like we will be able to better and take extra care of ourselves. I still think the sanitizer will stick on, and wash hands. Especially since nobody will really know  if the virus still exists or not. I have tried to better take care of myself and my family.
  1. In your opinion, what will be the new normal for traveling? And Why?

Taking lots of photos. One of the activities I am looking forward to doing is visiting safaris around my country. For a change I want to be touring around my country. I want to try zipline, (I am afraid of heights) and do boat cruising while animals roam by my side. Sounds interesting! But I also want to start taking  more photos. Documenting more of my travel experiences. So that’s one other thing I will be learning to incorporate more on my travels.

  2. What is your new goal for travel? How will it affect your lifestyle?

Traveling more! To be honest. I am interested in seeing more places. I want to go see Norway, Prague. More than what I already know. My goal is to see the good and the bad, to be able to experience how other people live their everyday life.
I also want to be able to visit almost every country in Africa. I realized there is a lot I’m missing. So I don’t think it’s anything that will affect my life. I think it will enhance my outlook on life . In terms of the way I think, and experience in general. So yeah, Travel more!
